Transcripts
There are several ways to add transcripts under a video on BirdPress

Enter the text in the “Video Hero Transcript” editor that is located below the content block editor. Examples can be found on the following pages:
- The Quest To Film And Photograph Every Species Of Bird-Of-Paradise
- The Araripe Manakin, Keeper Of The Spring Waters

Add the Video Transcript block (located in the BirdPress block category) directly under the video embed.
[upbeat music] [drone footage of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology]
[Sapsucker peers out of nest hole]
What bird is that?
[American Robin at nest, feeding caterpillars to young]
How much do they eat?
[Rose-bellied bunting perched on a small twig]
Why are they so colorful?

Link to a text file
Add a transcript link below the video that links to a text (txt) transcript file. It can be added to the caption text or as a link directly below the embed. A sample containing both options is below.
To add a transcript file:
- Go to the media library
- Upload the txt file
- Click on it to open the media editor
- Click the “Copy URL to clipboard” text
- Use the copied URL to add a link titled “Transcript”
- If adding the link as text under the video, you can offset if from other content by aligning the paragraph to the right and using the small font size option in the styles panel.
