Zotero

BirdPress has the ability to display your Zotero publications on your web pages.

Do this the first time you configure the plugin:

  1. Make sure the Zotero plugin is activated by looking for Zotpress link in the side bar of your BirdPress admin view
  2. Go to Zotero website and login with your Zotero account
  3. Go to this page: https://www.zotero.org/settings/keys
  4. Click on link: Create New Private Key
  5. Fill in:
    1. Key description: something like “BirdPress” (no quotes)
    2. Check off Read Only
  6. Click Save Key button at the bottom of the page
  7. You’ll return to the list of keys page, copy-paste the random string of letters in the Key column of the key you just created
  8. Return to BirdPress admin, mouse-over “Zotpress” in the sidebar, choose “Account”
  9. Click on Add Account button
  10. Paste in the Key value into the key field
  11. Follow the fine print instructions on the right side of the page to get the user id and paste into user id field
  12. Click Validate button
  13. In the BirdPress admin, mouse-over “Zotpress” in the sidebar, choose “Browse”
  14. You should be able to see the collections and publications from your Zotero account.
  15. To display these publications on your web pages, get short codes on the Help page: In the BirdPress admin, mouse-over “Zotpress” in the sidebar, choose “Help”
